Public
Safety

Clovis is the Safest City in the Valley.

“Keeping it that way is my highest priority—today and every day that I have been elected to serve,” Mayor Lynne Ashbeck

We are the safest city in the Valley – not by chance but because of our community’s commitment to safety and because of the extraordinary men and women of our public safety agencies.

Safe streets, rapid emergency response and clean neighborhoods continue to be our strong suit. When you call 911 in Clovis, you can count on a response – on matters large and small.

We expect more of local government than most other cities. Clovis delivers on that promise.

The Clovis
Difference

Defining Our Community

Clovis residents have, for generations, expected more of local government than some of our neighboring communities.
And we should.

The Clovis difference has always been about excellence, outcomes and accountability for the city’s performance. We are a city that works for its residents.

We do the basics well.
We have bold visions for the future.
Our employees go the extra mile for every resident they encounter—whether it be changing a resident’s tire, helping a senior cross the street or delivering a toy garbage truck to a three-year old on their birthday.

THAT is the Clovis difference.

“Local”
matters here.

In all things, “local” matters in Clovis.

Local focus.
Local leaders who put Clovis—all of Clovis—first.
Local control.
Local priorities.
Local economy.

All of those are an essential part of Clovis’ success.

Local control is a priority for Lynne – it means standing up for our community in the face of increasing State mandates. We are elected to solve problems, not to create political slogans or press coverage on issues outside of our control. Sacramento over-reach is real—and certainly impacts our decision-making ability.

Lynne will continue to fight for what is best for Clovis while effectively managing our tax dollars and preserving this community that we all love.

There are few elected officials left who simply want to serve a community—and not run for another office, compete for followers on social media, or try to ‘out-partisan’ another candidate.

Lynne is one of those few remaining civic leaders—in the tradition of long-standing elected officials in Clovis like Peg Bos and Harry Armstrong. Those who serve the common good—rather than serve themselves—are needed now more than ever.

The Trails in Clovis are unmatched and have been a decades long labor of effort, commitment and love! Ten plus miles and more coming every year!

10,000

steps to
a healthy
community.

Clovis residents expect to live in a safe community.

A clean and well-maintained community.

A healthy community.

Lynne has been the Council champion on ensuring Clovis families lived in a community known for its commitment to health—from helping local students establish ‘smoke free parks’ to supporting our trails—10,000 steps from one end to the other—neighborhood parks, safe routes for kids to walk to school, participating in CUSD’s Wellness Policy committee, prescription drug drop off boxes, land use policies and more, Lynne has been able to bring her professional experiences in community health to Clovis.

In Lynne’s
words…

Vision Matters

A great city builds on its heritage and
continues to evolve.

“Our city has had a vision of what is possible for generations, and our most respected city leaders have consistently acted with an understanding of the impact their decisions will have on the community fifty (50) years in the future. That is a value I embrace.

We all must believe in and require the power of a long-range vision for our city, especially in the difficult current times that challenge our nation, our state, even the best managed California communities.”

The common
good is still
present here.

“I remain committed to working on issues that advance our community, as a whole, and that do not cause harm to any one group or neighborhood.

I believe working on the common good is critical for maintaining all that is positive about Clovis. Safe neighborhoods, thriving business, streets that are maintained, clean water… are all common sense issues that affect each and every one of us. I will continue to be laser-focused on keeping Clovis the very best it can be.”
