Biography

Lynne grew up in a military family and moved from San Diego to attend Fresno State, where she graduated in 1977. She moved to Clovis after college, became a homeowner in 1978 and has been involved in the community ever since. Her long history of community service in Clovis includes the City's Personnel Commission (1987-89) and Planning Commission (1989-2000), with three terms as Chairperson. Lynne was first elected to the Clovis City Council in 2001, served as Mayor from 2003 – 2005, and was re-elected to her second term in 2005.


Lynne currently serves on the Fresno Pacific University Board of Trustees; is a co-founder of the United Way of Fresno County Women's Initiative (along with Supervisor Susan Anderson); one of founding co-chairs of the Regional Jobs Initiative; a member of the Clovis Unified School District Wellness Policy Committee and leader of Clovis' Healthy Communities Initiative; and a member of the Clovis East High School Principal's Advisory Committee.


She has served as Co-Chair of the Measure C Steering Committee; Executive Chairperson of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign; and Chair, Leadership Fresno Steering Committee, among a long list of community involvement over the last 30 years.


Lynne is the Regional Vice President of the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California and is a part-time mediator/facilitator for the Center for Collaborative Policy at California State University, Sacramento. She holds a both a Bachelor and a Master's Degree from California State University, Fresno and a Graduate Certificate in Mediation from Fresno Pacific University.


Lynne has two sons, Mike, 19, a student at Fresno State, and Douglas, 17, a senior at Clovis East High School.
